About me
My name is Tracy Morphew and I am in my early 50’s married with 2 son’s
Since a very young naughty child, Art has always been my escape to express my mood and even today I find that when creating, I can look back and see what kind of mood I was in at the time.
Crazy = manic patterns
Calm = pastel colours
Happy = bright colours
Stressed = usually dark
Born in Dulwich south London and moved around quite a bit, I finally settled in Epsom surrey with my Husband and 2 sons
My hope was always to go to Art college when I left school, but I also left home and needed to work to pay the bills, then I met my husband and as life usually gets in the way of our dreams, kids, mortgage etc etc
My 2 sons are all grown up now and recently in the past couple of years have felt my creative flow return
Starting with making cakes and then selling cakes,
Then making cake toppers for the cakes or to sell on websites and social media then I started to explore polymer clay and make jewellery for friends and selling to local people.
After a short time I started to like the idea of paint again and started to create with the fluid art ideas, trying all sorts of techniques with spinning the art, blowing the paint with a hairdryer, swiping the paint with palette knives and finally picked up a brush again after many many many years, I have found my style and that I like bold abstract art on large canvases and even though I do not have many years of experience, I would love to share my art with the world and hope that even a few people may enjoy my art on their wall as much as they enjoy devouring my cakes
My art is defined by my mood but the love of abstract is where I am at, i love the freedom and movement of the paint, using diffferent tools to create designs and patterns.
I only use Acrylic paint for my paintings but will include spray paint to add details
I love metallics and how they glisten in the light adding just a touch of glamour and life to the piece.
I would love to hear from you if you would like a commission piece made for you to complete that amazing room you have designed and decorated, to sit proudly on your wall to enhance the beauty of your new room.
